Patties Foods Uses 100% Australian Beef

“A Message to the Pie Lovers of Australia”

Patties Foods, Australia’s largest meat pie producer, has confirmed its commitment to 100% Australian beef, announcing today it does not use and will not use imported beef in its products.

The maker of iconic pie brands Four’N Twenty, Herbert Adams and Patties is committed to using only quality cuts of 100% Australian beef.

Managing Director of Patties Foods, Greg Bourke, says consumers have the right to know what’s in a pie, and where it comes from.

The announcement follows recent debate on the lifting of import bans on overseas meat, and some persistent myths about the quality of meat used in meat pies.

To highlight its commitment, Patties Foods has today posted “A message to the pie lovers of Australia” in a webvideo on its website, www.patties.com.au.

“Patties Foods is one of the nation’s biggest users of red meat, accounting for over 35,000 cattle each year. We only use quality cuts. We don’t use imported meat, and have no intentions of ever doing so.

“We’re proud to support the local beef industry by using quality cuts of 100% Australian beef in our meat pies,” Mr Bourke said.

As testimony to this commitment, Patties Foodshas also launched a new meat pie, the Four’N Twenty Legendary Angus Beef Pie, made from 100% Certified Australian Angus Beef.

“This 100% Angus Beef pie takes the great Australian taste of Four’N Twenty to a new level,” Mr Bourke said.

CEO of Certified Australian Angus Beef, Phil Morley, applauded the new Four’N Twenty Legendary Angus Beef Pie as another great product using Australia’s best beef.

“Angus beef is the best tasting, juiciest and most tender beef on the market.

“It’s great to see 2 Aussie legends getting together – Certified Australian Angus Beef, and Four’N Twenty,” Mr Morley said.
