1966 Peter & Annie Rijs purchase Patties Cake Shop in Lakes Entrance

1967 The Rijs’ begin to build business by introducing pies and bread rolls

1968 Demand for Patties products has outgrown the original shop, which is renovated

1970 Patties sales are going through the roof – far exceeding original sales forecast

1974 A new bakery is built in Lakes Entrance

1976 Patties purchases Sunicrust Bakery in Bairnsdale

1977 Patties purchases Gaffs Bakery in Main Street, Bairnsdale

1981 Patties sells the original Lakes Entrance Shop & sells Main St Bakery

1982 Patties takes over Sale City Cake Shop

1984 Patties purchases Gippsland Bakeries in Sale

1985 A new pie factory is built & production is moved to Bairnsdale

1986 Patties begins distribution in Melbourne

1988 Launch of the major “P-P-P Patties” TV campaign into Melbourne metropolitan market.

1989 Patties purchases a major Melbourne pie and cake facility to produce Patties cakes

1993 Patties launches its Arriba Mexican food range

1994 Patties launches its famous Party Pack 30’s range

1995 Patties begins exporting to New Zealand

1996 Patties sells the bread business to Sunicrust to concentrate on pastry products

1997 Patties sells its Melbourne manufacturing facility and fresh distribution business

1998 Patties undertakes $2M plant renovation and extension – installation of spiral cooler

2000 Patties is contracted by Simplot to produce the Four’n Twenty pie range for four months

2000 Installation of a Universal line capable of making all pasties, sausage rolls and finger foods

2003 Patties acquires the Aussie icon brands of Four’n Twenty, Herbert Adams and Nanna’s

2004 Manufacturing of Four’n Twenty, Herbert Adams & Nanna’s begins at the Bairnsdale Factory

2004 Patties wins overall Gippsland Business of the Year & Manufacturer of the Year

2005 Patties Foods wins awards for Standards in Action & Regional Achievement & Community

2006 Patties is inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame

2006 Patties is inducted into the Gippsland Business Awards Hall of Fame

2006 Patties Foods lists on the ASX

2007 Patties Foods acquires Chefs Pride and Creative Gourmet businesses
